Thousands of beluga whales visit the Churchill River estuary each summer

Known as the Beluga Whale Capital of the World, over 50,000 beluga whales migrate into Hudson Bay each summer—3,000 to 4,000 of which spend the season feeding and raising their young in the Churchill River estuary. But belugas aren’t the only wildlife that thrive here in summer: hundreds of migratory bird species return to the tundra, and polar bears come ashore as the sea ice melts.

A trip to Churchill in the months of July and August offers guests from around the world the opportunity to witness these magnificent cetaceans up close in their natural habitat.
